Getting to Pismo Beach and the Central Coast is easy.
Only 200 miles north of Los Angeles and 220 miles south of San Francisco on Hwy 101, this area is an easy spot to get to and takes about 4 hours either way. From San Francisco you can drive to SLO on scenic Hwy 1 and stopping in Big Sur, Ragged Point and the Piedras Blancas elephant seal rookery.
SLO also has a small airport served by American Eagle, United Express, US Airways and Delta Connection with non-stops from LAX, SFO, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and San Jose. Check out SLOAirport.com
Amtrak also serves the SLO area several times per day via the Coast Starlight from Seattle and the Pacific Surfliner from San Diego. Check out Amtrak.com
